  This lesson will teach you how to save and open file or image. If you already know it skip this lesson.

How to Save Picture taken from web site:

Right click on (pic star) or any picture from website which is free. Please note do not take any copyrighted pictures from web site.

Now click on save picture as, a dialogue box will open up (pic 1). Click on the top arrow of Save in - a little white box (drop down menu) will appear. Now find c: drive as you can see in (pic 1). If you cannot find c: use the scroll bar (slide it up and down) on drop down menu to find it. Now click on c:

Now make a new folder called psp7. To make a folder click on the (top yellow box) create new folder, it will make New Folder as you can see in the (pic 2).

Type in the place of New Folder as psp7. See in (pic 2).

Now double click on psp7 folder (pic 3) and it will open up.

Now save the star.jpg in psp7 folder. (pic 4). Click on save. That's it. your picture is now saved in psp7 folder of c: drive.

How to save image in psp7?
If you want to save any image from psp or you've made some new image in psp7 and do not know how to save it. Here is the method.

Note: If you want to upload your image in web site, it should be in .gif or .jpeg format. Otherwise your image will not show up.

Some image will look good in gif and some in jpg. jpeg is the most compressed form. If you put your pic in jpg format it will be smaller file and load time will be very less.

Ok so let us see how to save image.
Click on image to select it if it is already not selected.

Now go to menu bar - click on save icon or File - Save as -a dialog box will open up ( pic 1 - see details).
In File name - give any name to file as you desire
In Save as type - Select as gif or jpeg.
Now decied where you want to save your file in hard drive (
see details in previous method)
Now click on save. If you have selected as gif Your image will be saved as gif.

If you have selected jpeg - click on options in the same box - now you can compress the image according to your need. Keep compression (15-25).
If you keep compression scale on higher levels, image may not look good when you look it in your browser. Try different levels and find out what works good.
Now click on save. Your image will be saved as jpg.

How to open picture from hard disc?
In psp7 click on open icon of menu bar (pic 5) to open. Or click on File - open. Now a dialog box will open up.

click on the top arrow of Look in to find c: drive. It is similar to save process (pic 1). Now double click on psp7 folder (pic 6). Find star.jpg in this folder and click on star.jpg to select it and click on open. Now you've opened the star.jpg picture.
