Dream Weaver 4.0 Tutorial
How to Define Local folder in Site window?
This Tutorial will teach you how to define local
folder in your Site window. Benefit of
the local folder is you can store all the files in this folder and
directly upload or do FTP these files to your server. Once
you've created your local folder after that whatever pages you'll
build in DW will automatically store in this folder.
Ok so let's see how can we define the local folder.
first make a folder in your local hard drive.
Ex. C:\mytutor (you can make a new folder in your c drive or whatever
drive you choose and name it mytutor or tutorial anything you like
to give.)
Ok now let's define our local folder in DreamWeaver
(DW).
Now go to Dreamweaver's page. Click on site menu on menu bar now
click on site files.

New page will open up. It is called Site. Now click
on site menu of site window and click on New Site.

Now you'll see a new dialog box called site definition....
Make sure that Local info (left side) is selected. Now fill:
site name - tutorial
Local Root Folder - c:\mytutor (it will be your local folder of
your hard drive which you've created in the beginning.)
HTTP Address - Your web site url and relative url will go here.
(Where you've to FTP this page.) Ex. http://yoursite.com/PageName
Click ok.

Now again click ok in new dialog box.

Now your site will look like this. Now you can see Local folder
items on right side.

Now whatever new page you create in DW (Dreamweaver) you should
store it in your c:\mytutor folder. So it will be easy for you to
find and upload (FTP) the files to your server.
Note: Each and everytime
when you create new web site you should define your local folder
first.
